This study has demonstrated the utility of the BD ProbeTec MTB test to reliably detect or exclude TB infection in lymph nodes within 24hours of sample receipt. The cost of the test will be comparable to already available PCR TB tests.
Rapid and accurate detection of TB is now a reality; this test will allow the AHB to speedily confirm TB infection and act with confidence on the result.
